The other night (yes I work at night) I was in need of a Text Box Editor for a Website
I am working on. I have used them in the past and there are several of them on
the market that are free. Never really liking any of the ones I have tried before,
I expected to get the same old Google results. #1 in the list was the #1 Textbox
Editor I have seen to date - FreeTextBox.com
One of the most ingenious third party components built in recent years has been the
Textbox Editor. They certainly have enhanced the way Internet
users interact in a content driven day and age. That being said, many of the ones I have
worked with are not that easy to deploy and they load slow.
I was able to download FreeTextBox.com, install it,
and had it working in less than 5 minutes. No JavaScript files or style sheets that
needed to be edited nor did I need to transfer image files much like the ones I have
used in the past. Just pop the DLL in the the BIN folder in Visual Studio and add the
control to the page. Wahlah - up and going.
FreeTextBox.com is a .NET component. You can
download the FREE version or you can purchase the licensed version if you want access
to the source code and a few other goodies. Their Website also has demos, forums, and
support information.
